Get a top 10 ranking without paying a cent

If there’s one thing that Google loves, it’s content. Done right, a content rich website is almost guaranteed to rank highly. But how to get that content? You can write it yourself, but that takes a lot of time. You can pay an SEO copywriter to write it for you, but that takes a lot of money. If only there was another option…

What if you could get your content for free? And not just a little bit of content; a lot! What if you could get an almost unlimited supply of keyword rich, expertly written content, specific to your subject matter, absolutely free of charge? Would you snap it up and upload to your site in an instant? Of course you would! Well here’s the good news: you can! Read on to find out how you can get a top ten ranking in the search engines without paying a single cent…

Yes, content gives you a great ranking

Content is king. This is widely acknowledged as fact, but if you need further convincing, consider the following two points:

Point 1 - In Google’s own words, one of the keys to a high ranking is to “create a useful, information-rich site” (from “Google Information for Webmasters” - http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html).

Point 2 - Google insider, codenamed ‘Google Guy’, advocates a list 26 steps to building a high ranking site. Step 5 of the list says, “build one page of content and put online per day at 200-500 words” (from Brett Tabke’s “26 steps to 15k a Day” - http://www.searchengineworld.com/misc/guide.htm, advocated by Google Guy in a WebMasterWorld QA session - http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum30/29727-6-10.htm).

But why does content give you a great ranking?

I won’t go into any further detail about IF Google loves content. I will, however, briefly explain WHY. Google’s love affair with content is based on two key attractions:

1) Google loves sites with a lot of content because it assumes they provide a lot of useful information. And remember, that’s the whole reason Google exists - to help people find useful information. The more helpful Google’s results, the more traffic (and revenue) it gets.

2) Google loves sites that have a lot of links pointing to them because this means other webmasters hold your site in high regard, and Google assumes this means the content is useful. And naturally, if you create a useful site, other webmasters will link to it because this makes them useful to their visitors (thereby developing site loyalty), and they gain credibility and authority because they’re associated with you.

So how can you get free content for your website?

Three words: ‘free reprint articles’. There are hundreds of thousands of people out there writing high quality, helpful, informative articles on virtually every topic imaginable, then giving these article away to any webmaster who wants to publish them on a website. In exchange for the article, the author asks only that you retain the author bio at the end, complete with all links (e.g. “Glenn Murray is an SEO Copywriter and Article Submission Specialist…).

To find free content for your website, simply visit any one of hundreds of ‘article banks’ on the Internet such as http://www.ezinearticles.com, http://www.goarticles.com, or http://www.articleblast.com. Browse or search for the subject you’re interested in, then take the article(s) for free. There is absolutely no charge. Some of these sites will even send a regular stream of articles direct to your website (using RSS).

Alternatively, you can sign up to any number of article distribution lists and get articles delivered direct to your email inbox. Again, it’s absolutely free! Some of the better known distribution lists include http://groups.yahoo.com/group/article_announce, http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Free-Content, and http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Free-Reprint-Articles.

TIP: The article banks and distribution lists mentioned above are just the tip of the iceberg. There are hundreds more - just do a search for “free reprint articles”, “article submission”, “article submission site”, “submit article”, “article submit site”, “free articles”, or “free content”. You may even find a site or list which only deals in articles relating to your particular subject matter.

Why is it free?

Why are these authors giving their articles away? Because it helps the author’s own search engine ranking. As explained above, Google loves sites with lots of links pointing to them. Every time their article submission is published, the author gets another link to their website. In fact, if the article is really good, it may be published hundreds of times. And each time, it’s another link to the author’s website. Put simply, article submission is a writer’s free pass to the top of the search engines.

How do I know if the quality is good?

It’s a process of natural selection. The better the article submission, the more often it will be published, so it’s in the author’s interest to write and submit articles of the highest quality. Of course, this doesn’t always happen, but in most cases, you’ll be reviewing the articles before you post them anyway, so if you discover one that’s not up to scratch, don’t use it.

In time, you’ll become familiar with the authors who consistently put out good quality content - you may even find enough of them that you don’t need to go looking for content from anyone else…

Where do I put the free content?

Most people put the articles in an ‘Articles’ or ‘Resources’ section on their website, but you can put them anywhere you like.

How much free content should I use?

As much as you want or as little as you want. It all depends on your needs and the needs of your audience. If your audience expects that at least some of your site is original content, then give it to them.

But what about the duplicate content issue?

It’s not an issue!

There’s a lot of a talk about how Google penalizes duplicate content. The theory is that when the majority of the content on two separate webpages (on different sites) is the same, the one with the higher PR will be shown and the other one will not.

Whether or not this theory is true is still a hot topic in search engine circles, but regardless, it doesn’t affect people publishing free-reprint articles. When you publish the article, just make sure you have unique content around it. Generally, it’s enough to have your own unique introduction to the page (which may be common to all pages), and your own navigation elements, headers, footers, sidebars, logos, images, etc.

Conclusion

Free reprint articles are a great way for you to achieve a high ranking. And you don’t have to pay a cent! So what are you waiting for?

Happy reprinting!

Boilers

Boilers are a common heating device for most homes in the US. The warmth generated by boilers through an intricate system has made the lives of millions in the US comfortable. Boilers have become a necessity in the US and there is hardly a household that does not possess these gadgets. Boilers heat water, supplying either hot water or steam for the purpose of heating.

Steam is disseminated through pipes to steam radiators, while hot water can be supplied by means of baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems, or can heat air with the help of a coil. Steam boilers function at a higher temperature than hot water boilers, and are essentially less effective. But thanks to modern technology, high-efficiency forms of all sorts of boilers are presently obtainable.

A central boiler’s effectiveness is determined with the help of annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE). Prevailing laws in the US make it mandatory for boiler manufacturers to provide information about their AFUE to consumers, so that they can compare the heating effectiveness of different models. AFUE is an indication of an appliance’s effectiveness through a particular year. In precise terms, AFUE is the ratio of heat output of the boiler in contrast to the entire energy used by a boiler.

Electric boilers are highly efficient, but the high cost of electricity in the US deters consumers from using them. The AFUE rating for an all-electric boiler is between 95% and 100%. A boiler’s efficiency can also be gauged, apart from the AFUE, by the characteristics of its equipment. Mid-efficiency heating systems are characterized by a natural draft that generates a supply of combustion gases, a continuous pilot light, and a heavy heat exchanger.

High-efficiency boilers are marked by an exhaust fan that controls the flow of combustion air and combustion gases more accurately, an electronic ignition that ensures the absence of a pilot light, a compact size, a lighter weight to diminish cycling losses, and a small-diameter pipe.

Boilers provides detailed information on Boiler Professionals, Boilers, Electric Boilers, Gas Boilers and more. Boilers is affiliated with Solar Energy Panels.

Why Small Business Must Turn to PR

If small business had no important outside audiences, it wouldn’t exist.

But since they do have external “publics,” it’s doubly unfortunate when those same small business owners seem unconcerned about the very outside folks whose behaviors can place a choke-hold on their business!

And worse, are so casual about public relations, the best way to move those behaviors in their direction.

Is that you? What’s the problem? Can you think of any other way to marshall those groups of people you need so badly if your business is to succeed?

Face it. You must turn to public relations if you are really serious about getting those important outside people to support what you are trying to do.

And the best part is, there’s no mystery about how to do it!

Start today by listing your important outside audiences in priority order. No doubt, customers and prospects will place #1 and #2. But think carefully about your local and trade media as well as community residents and leaders, suppliers and the like. The test for adding an external audience to your worry list is this: if left unattended, could its perceptions and behaviors hurt your business?

Since there is no other affordable way to find out how each of your target audiences perceive your business, products, services and operations, you must take the time to do it yourself along with your colleagues. Interact with members of that key target audience and probe their perceptions with plenty of questions. Watch for misconceptions, inaccuracies and rumors that need to be corrected. Stay alert to negativity of any kind.

This will let you decide how much you will try to alter perceptions among each audience. It also becomes the behavior modification goal against which you will measure your progress.

Now it’s message time. What will you say to members of your target audience to alter that negative perception that surfaced during your conversations with them? Your message must be persuasive, so stick with the facts and present them clearly. By identifying honestly what is really at issue at the moment, you impart a sense of credibility to your comments, and their timeliness adds a compelling dimension to your message.

What’s the best way to get that message to the eyes and ears of members of your target audience?

Here, you have an embarrassment of riches with dozens of communications tactics including news announcements, op-eds, letters-to-the-editor, speeches, community briefings, broadcast and newspaper interviews and many, many others.

Progress can best be tracked by interacting all over again with members of the target audience. While you’ll ask questions similar to those you asked in your earlier monitoring sessions, this time you’re looking for signs that your message got through. In other words, signs that your message succeeded in altering any negative perceptions of your business.

You should also monitor print and broadcast media, key customers and prospects for similar indications of success.

Should progress not be fast enough for you, you’ll want to consider increasing the number of communications tactics you employ as well as the frequency of their use. Your message should also be re-evaluated for its factual basis and clarity.

Gradually, your monitoring will playback perception changes among that target audience, and that means the behaviors you seek will not be far behind.

It is this kind of success that tells us very clearly why small business must turn to PR if it is to realize its potential.

Tibetan Singing Bowls - Learn More Before You Buy

I recently had the pleasure to interview Richard Rudis, a Buddhist who has traveled to Tibet many times, who also teaches people how to work with Gongs, Tingshas, and Tibetan Singing Bowls.

One question I asked him was about the fact that lately it seems that everyone and their brother is offering Tibetan Singing Bowls for sale. I asked Richard to discuss this phenomenon:

Richard: In regard to the singing bowl proliferation, we should start in India. Now, India is a wonderful country and it is full of wonderful opportunists. If there is a way of financially gaining from anything within their realm of understanding, they are on it in a moment.

So in India there are warehouses full of what are referred to as “singing bowls” or “Tibetan bowls.” They have been machined. They are not handmade like real Tibetan Singing Bowls. The alloy that real Tibetan bowls are made from is sacred in origin; I have no idea if these bowls are made from same alloy, but probably not. For example, the iron in ancient bowls is meteorite iron.

That’s not to say that some of these Indian bowls can’t be useful. It is just that they are being marketed in a way that is not completely honest.

There are only three sources in the United States that I can recommend where someone can go and say I want a Tibetan Bowl, and get a real one. There were two groups in Tibet that made them, and the groups have not existed for over a hundred years, so if the bowl was truly made by them, then the bowls are at least 100 years old.

The research I’ve done shows that the fourth Dalai Lama, separated these special bowls from drinking bowls, so we can date true bowls back from at least 100 to over 1000 years ago.

The older bowls coming from that spiritual path, they are spectacular. But there are a finite number of them, so when you see all these bowls out there, the sources have to be questioned. You need to use a lot of discernment and knowledge.

I do workshops over the country and people will bring me a bowl they have and to them, it’s a wonderful bowl in their mind. But once they experience a true quality bowl that I bring to the workshop, the bowl that they thought was great now becomes mediocre. It can still work for them in many ways, but it is not the same bowl they once thought it was.

Richard Rudis leads pilgrimages to Tibet, teaches people how to use singing bowls, and sells remarkable Tibetan and other Asian artifacts and antiquities through his website - http://www.buddhistartifacts.com

Drew Miles Reviews Smart Year End Planning

3. Smart Yearend Planning - Planning for the next year

There are three main areas we need to keep in mind as the year ends:
1. Taxes
2. Corporate formalities
3. Planning for next year

Planning for the next year:

a) Operations - What are one or two areas of your business that can be improved? How can you improve your service, stay in better touch with clients, close the gaps in your system? Ask your customers, clients and employees for suggestions. People like the fact you ask, even if they don’t have suggestions. For constructive feedback, you need an environment where people can take criticism or self-critique, not pointing fingers but rather give non-accusatory feedback.

b) Marketing - Make it a goal to adopt one new marketing strategy or lead generation strategy per quarter for the next year.

c) Steams of income - Add one or two more streams of income for the next year. If you flip property, try hanging on to one or two to rent. If you have a Web marketing business, add one or two new products or services.

d) Joint Ventures or product - Many of you have a product or book in you.
Tie up loose ends and hit the ground running at the yearend. Write down your goals now and about halfway through the year. Revisit what you wrote down - you will be stunned at how much you’ve accomplished.

The Five Worst Date Places

Food in teeth, nausea, childhood stories and exposing your pot belly are all things you ought to avoid on first or second dates. You run the risk of experiencing these and other humiliating incidents if you choose the wrong place to bring your date. Good places are memorable, different, unique, cost-effective, and relevant to both of you in some way. Bad date places have none of these qualities and the worst places not only lack these things, but also embarrass you and assure that you’ll never get another date with the person again.

Let’s look at the function of a date. If you’re single, a date acts like an interview. Your goal is to get the other person to still like you enough when the date is over to go out with you again, assuming you’re still interested as well. You’re trying to appear cool, sexy, together, confident, and fun. You’re also trying to make the other person as comfortable as possible.

That’s why avoiding the worst places is the first step in smart dating. The following lists the worst places you could choose to go on a date and I recommend that you avoid them like the plague if you want the other person to still like you when it’s over.

An Amusement Park

As the roller coaster nears its pinnacle your date looks over the side and silently swears under her breath at you for talking her into going on this ride. She hates roller coasters, has always been afraid of them, and is highly susceptible to motion sickness. As she contemplates her strategy to avoid you in the future, the coaster starts its stomach-turning decent, and she leans over and throws up in your lap, her way of saying “Thanks for the great date”.

Amusement parks are a funky phenomenon. You’ll often find overgrown stuffed animals running around trying to high-five you, screaming children, long lines, and overpriced food. Unless your date is an amusement park buff, it’s unlikely he or she is going to love the idea.

*** The Beach ***

Don’t get me wrong, the beach is a great place. But from the point of view of a date with a near stranger, it stinks. First, there’s an awful lot of sand and it can get everywhere. You can’t easily eat on the beach; a lack of furniture contributes to that. With sand and bugs-o-plenty, eating ends up being a drag.

But probably the worst thing about the beach is that you’re compelled to take off most of your clothes. Now, if you both have hot bodies, well-groomed with flat stomachs and great muscle tone, then you have nothing to worry about. But if you don’t, stay away from places that make you feel silly if you want to keep all your imperfection-hiding clothes on.

*** A Non-Traditional Restaurant ***

One time I took a date to a Japanese restaurant where they made everyone take off their shoes upon entering. There were no chairs, just floor-level tables that everyone sat around on little pillows. It didn’t seem like it was going to be too bad until I started to smell my feet while eating our salads. The noxious odor must have been escaping from the various holes in my ratty socks. The whole night was humiliatingly awkward.

Other places to avoid are eateries where you’re expected to use your hands to feed yourself. A first date doesn’t want to watch you maul your barbeque ribs and chicken legs like The Missing Link. No one likes the thought of being touched later on by greasy fingers. And have you ever eaten corn on the cob and come away with clean teeth?

*** A Family Function ***

I don’t know about your family, but a few of my great-aunts have hairy faces. I mean really hairy, with partial beards and hairy moles. One of my uncles thinks he’s still living in 1880 and uses every racist expression ever known. So it goes without saying that I never brought dates to family functions. And you shouldn’t either. Weddings, reunions, baptisms, bat mitzvahs, and especially funerals, are out.

There’s no such thing as a family that isn’t dysfunctional. It doesn’t exist. If you bring a first or second date to a family function be prepared for somebody to embarrass you. Grandma will ask you two when you’re getting married and when to expect great grandchildren. And your little cousin Eunice will promptly tell your date all about the time you farted in church.

*** Your Parent’s House for Dinner ***

I can’t think of a more uncomfortable setting than sitting at a dinner table with complete strangers in their own house. Don’t put a date through this torture. You may have the hippest parents in the world. They may intelligent, hospitable and interesting. But don’t subject anyone you just recently met to your parents for an entire dinner.

Often the parent of your same sex looks like you’re going to look in twenty five years. You’ll find your date sizing up your parent asking themselves whether they’ll be ok with your pot belly and hairy ears a couple of decades from now.

Bringing your date to your parent’s house is just asking for trouble. Your mom may temporarily forget that you’re trying to make an impression and start talking to you like you’re thirteen years old again, “Before you leave tonight my little muffin, can you take your hemorrhoid ointment out of our medicine cabinet, daddy keeps using it for lip cream by mistake.”

Dates can be traumatic and nerve-racking in the best of places so don’t make it harder on either of you than you have to. There are some great places to take a date that will make you look like a hero, won’t cost you too much, will give you just enough time to talk to each other, but will also provide an entertaining distraction.

I’m talking about museums, jazz shows, rock concerts, musicals, art shows, plays and live comedy. These are all cool places to bring a first or second date. They allow you to talk and be entertained at the same time. These types of places make the date memorable, distinct and out of the ordinary. It shows you put more than just a little thought in the idea. And if you’re trying to get someone to go out with you for the first time, find out what kind of bands, shows, comedians or plays they like, buy a couple of tickets, and casually invite them along with an explanation like your buddy just cancelled on you and you have a free ticket that you don’t want to waste.

How To Advertise Your Business Online

How To Advertise Your Business Online Using pay-per-click advertising to generate targeted leads for your business.

What Is Pay-Per-Click? Pay-per-click is a method search engines use that allows you to list your site at the top of their search engine results. You don’t pay for your site to be listed in the search engine; you pay for the number of times someone actually clicks on your ad. This is often considered to be one of the cheapest yet most cost-effective ways to advertise your business online.

How Pay-Per-Click Works You select keywords that allow the search engine to find your ad when someone performs a search using the same words. For each pay-per-click campaign you create, you determine how much you are willing to pay to appear in the results. The higher you bid, the higher your ad will be listed in the search engine. There are three highly recommended search engines to choose from. Google, Findwhat and Overture rank the highest among customer satisfaction.

Google.com Google is one of the best brand names in the search engine business. They partner with AOL, Ask Jeeves, Lycos, Earthlink, Lycos Canada, Netscape, Compuserve, AT&T Worldnet and NYTimes.com. They also have targeted sponsor links to Disney.com online, FamilyFun.com, Go.com and Movies.com.

Google provides a keyword suggestion tool and they only bill advertisers after someone has clicked on their ads. Advertisers have the ability to target their ads to over 225 countries in several different languages. There is a $5.00 set up fee and the minimum bid is only 5 cents.

Is This For You? Some people swear by pay-per-click, stating how it has allowed them to market their business on a small budget. Others feel that pay-per-click is a black hole. Visitors click on the links; however, it doesn’t always lead to new customers or sales. My suggestion: try it yourself. There are several factors to consider when using pay-per-click, so take it for a test drive, try several different keywords and descriptions, and see if it’s right for you.

Tips:

- Give yourself time to learn the process for each search engine.

- Start small. Bid low so you won’t lose too much if it doesn’t work for you right away.

- Test. See if different keywords or descriptions will change your results.
